If you're looking for a meaty, flavourful red slicing tomato with good acidity that ripens uber early in a cool climate and does great in a pot, look no further than 'Sophie's Choice.'
I've been growing this Canadian heirloom on an off or decades and it has been reliable and sturdy in a range of environments from a rooftop deck in the sky to a hot and dry concrete parking pad and a backyard raised bed. Whats more, it's disease resistant and doesn't demand staking or too much pampering. Great for sandwiches, salads, and sauce!
Special Notes: Compact determinate. Very early. 55 days. OP. Excellent for containers, but equally great in the ground. No less than 20 seed per packet. Grown and harvested in the 2018 gardening season.
Seed Starting and Growing: Start seed indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Transplant outdoors after danger of frost has passed.
About You Grow Girl Seeds:
All of the seeds that I sell were lovingly homegrown and harvested by me, small scale, in my urban garden using organic methods only -- no chemicals or pesticides whatsoever. Tomato varieties are isolated to stay true using the flower bagging method and I test for germination quality. I take special care in choosing varieties that I find unusual, interesting and fabulous, and/or especially suitable for growing in small space gardens.
