'Red Robin' is an excellent choice for the smallest patio, balcony, or window ledge. This handsome, compact plant grows 8-18-inches tall, depending on the size of the pot and produces loads of red cherry tomatoes quite early (about 55 days).
Try growing indoors during the winter months. Yields will be lower, but worth it for that fresh homegrown tomato taste year-round!
Special Notes: Determinate dwarf variety is great for small spaces and container growing. Heavy producer on a small plant. Red cherry-sized fruit. Open-pollinated. 55 days.
No less than 15 seed per packet.
Seed Starting and Growing: Start seed indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Transplant outdoors after danger of frost has passed. I find that due to their smaller size, dwarf varieties can be started up to a month ahead to get an even earlier harvest.
About You Grow Girl Seeds:
All of the seeds that I sell were lovingly homegrown and harvested by me, small scale, in my urban garden using organic methods only -- no chemicals or pesticides whatsoever. Tomato varieties are isolated to stay true using the flower bagging method and I test for germination quality. I take special care in choosing varieties that I find unusual, interesting and fabulous, and/or especially suitable for growing in small space gardens.
